Dr Fethi Mansouri is Senior Lecturer and Coordinator of Middle Eastern Studies, School of Social and Intercultural Studies, Deakin University, Melbourne. He is also Deputy Director of the Centre for Citizenship and Human Rights and founding member and convenor of the Refugee Studies Group.
This comes across as an angry article, whether intended this way or not. Further, while he highlights some undoubted injustices, it is an unbalanced treatment that uniformly treats Muslims as the victims of Western prejudice and stereotypes. Mansouri’s approach is further compromised by his failure to make any distinction between Islam and Muslims, a fault he shares with those against whom he inveighs.
