Nichiren Daishonin, the Japanese Buddhist leader from whom Soka Gakkai traces its origins, stated:

However great the good cause one may make, or even if one reads and copies the entirety of the Lotus Sutra a thousand or ten thousand times, or attains the way of perceiving three thousand realms in a single moment of life, if one fails to denounce the enemies of the Lotus Sutra, it will be impossible to attain the way.

Devotees of Soka Gakkai treat the Lotus Sutras as the supremely inspired Buddhist text. Nichiren says that attainment of the ultimate state requires the denouncement of all who oppose and reject the Lotus Sutra.

Contrast this stance with that urged of Christians:

But I tell you who hear me: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you… But  love your enemies, do good to them, and lend to them without expecting to get anything back. Then your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High, because he is kind to the ungrateful and wicked. Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful (Luke 6:27-28).
